Privacy Policy
App Name: Pushup Tracker
Effective Date: March 5, 2025
Pushup Tracker is a fitness app that helps you count push-ups, track sessions, and view progress.
We respect your privacy and are committed to being clear about how data is handled.
Information We Collect
- Workout data you enter or generate: reps, sets, duration, and optional weight are saved locally on your device in a private database. We do not upload this data to our servers.
- Camera data for rep counting: the front camera is used for on-device pose detection to count reps. Images and video frames are processed on-device only and are not stored or sent to us.
- App analytics: we use Firebase Analytics to collect anonymous usage events (e.g., screen views, feature usage) and basic device info to improve the app. No account or name is required.
- Crash reports: Firebase Crashlytics collects crash logs and limited device data to diagnose stability issues.
- Remote configuration: Firebase Remote Config downloads feature/update flags. No personal data is uploaded for this.
How We Use Information
- To provide core features (rep counting, timers, history, charts).
- To keep your data on your device so you control it.
- To improve stability and experience through aggregate analytics and crash reports.
- To deliver reminders/notifications you enable (e.g., daily push-up nudges).
Data Sharing
We do not sell your data. Limited data is shared with trusted processors solely to operate the app:
- Firebase Analytics: anonymized usage events and device identifiers.
- Firebase Crashlytics: crash logs and diagnostics.
- Firebase Remote Config: fetches feature/update settings; no personal identifiers are sent by us.
- Google ML Kit: pose detection runs on-device; images are not uploaded.
Permissions We Request
- Camera: required for on-device pose detection to count reps.
- Notifications: optional, for reminders and updates you agree to receive.
- Network access: needed for Firebase services (analytics, crash reporting, remote config) and update checks.
Data Storage and Retention
- Your workout history and optional weight are stored locally on your device. Uninstalling the app removes this data.
- Analytics and crash data are retained by Firebase per their policies; no account data is linked because Pushup Tracker does not create user accounts.
Your Choices
- You can decline camera or notification permissions; some features (rep counting, reminders) may not work without them.
- You can clear app data or uninstall at any time to remove locally stored workout data.
Children
Pushup Tracker is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has used the app and sent data to Firebase, contact us and we will assist with removal where possible.
Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected here with a new effective date.
